Dr. Alan Genitempo is a New Jersey–licensed acupuncturist and the founder of RECOVR Acupuncture & Sports Rehab, North Jersey’s premier destination for pain relief, sports recovery, and integrative health care. He holds both a Master’s and Doctorate degree in Acupuncture and specializes in treating musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, and a variety of chronic health conditions using a blend of traditional Chinese medicine and modern evidence-based techniques.

With a deep-rooted passion for athletics, Dr. Genitempo competed in collegiate baseball for four seasons, which fuels his commitment to helping athletes and active individuals recover faster, perform better, and stay injury-free. His unique approach combines sports acupuncture, dry needling, electro-acupuncture, and infrared therapy, providing results-driven treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.

Born and raised in Nutley, NJ, Dr. Genitempo now lives in Fairfield with his wife Robin and their daughters Gemma and Camilla. Outside the clinic, he enjoys weightlifting, golf, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. His athletic background and personal experience with injury recovery drive his mission to deliver exceptional care to those who refuse to settle for “just living with it.”
